This was a fun one! The 911's steering cylinder basically blew up in the 130S muckbay courtesy of damaged threads allowing a head bolt to back out. After the machine attempted to play submarine courtesy of winter rain, Gail and I got enough clamping force to limp it back up to the cap magazine. One new o-ring and some Ozark engineering later, the cylinder was once again sealed.

I then pulled several yards of muck out of the cap magazine drift to provide working space, and dozed the waste pile flat. On the surface, the ground is now frozen and we had a horrible time with batteries self-discharging last winter. The space cleared permits us to park all of our equipment underground and take advantage of relatively constant temperatures, with the added bonus of improved security. If I never spend two hours trying to jump-start an LHD in 25-degree weather again, it will be too soon!
