Smurfing in video games has existed for decades and no developer has seemed to solve it. It's clear that smurfing is a bad thing, so why does it still plague so many online competitive games? Today, I dove deep into the topic of smurfing, particularly in Rocket League, to find out why developers still haven't solved the issue, if they even care about it, and how bad the smurfing issue actually is. In Rocket League particularly, the answers to those questions turned out to be pretty surprising.
