Alberta Parks is upgrading the West Bragg Creek, Kananaskis Provincial Recreation Area parking lot to accommodate some 485 cars, horse trailers and buses. New toilets will be installed and new information and maintenance facilities will be provided. The Greater Bragg Creek Trail Association has been working on upgrading and adding to the trail system which are drawing about 150,000 people to the area yearly. So parking was becoming a problem. Access to the area will be closed during the week until the end of June 2017. During that time, parking will be limited. Cyclists and hikers are encouraged to use the Elbow Valley recreational trails while the work is underway.
