Hey guys, and welcome back to the channel! In today's video, I’ll be comparing two popular e-commerce platforms: Shopify and Wix. Now, I did a lot of research and tested both platforms, and finally decided to go with Shopify for my ecommerce business. This video is going to give you insights on why I made this decision, and what you should consider before making your own decision. The main difference between Shopify and Wix, is that Shopify was designed specifically for ecommerce, while Wix began as a content-based website builder and later added ecommerce features. Now, whether you’re a beginner or aiming to scale your business, Shopify is a great option due to its wide range of over 6,000 app integrations. These integrations work seamlessly with any of Shopify’s 100+ themes and templates. Since we’re talking about e-commerce and online stores, I'll be giving you an overview of the second category. Choosing from Wix’s Business and E-Commerce section is essential if you want to conduct online payments through your website. This means that you’ll need to make an entirely separate site for smartphones. .If you use Shopify or Wix’s built-in payment gateways, called Shopify Payments and Wix Payments, you can avoid transaction fees completely However, Shopify does charge up to 5% per transaction through a third-party gateway depending on your plan, while Wix allows you to process payments through third parties for free. However, those payments have to be in USD, since Wix doesn’t offer multi-currency checkout options. Although Wix does offer a free plan, the functionality is very limited, especially if you’re looking to set up an ecommerce shop. Don’t get me wrong, Wix’s free plan can be a great starting point to help you get a feel for how a Wix-operated website would look for your store. Now Shopify, unlike Wix, has no free plans. But you can get a free 3-day trial and then receive the discount from the link in the description below. That’ll get you a 90-day package for $3, and you can experience everything Shopify has to offer. Once that’s over, Shopify has three main plans: the Basic Shopify Plan at $19/month, the Shopify Standard Plan at $49/month, and the Advanced Shopify Plan goes for $299/month. As you scale your business, you can easily switch between the plans. And, you will also get a 25% discount on the plans if you choose to pay annually. Alright, that’s a wrap for today’s video. And remember that if you decide to check Shopify out, click the link in the description below for 90 days at $1/month. Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you in the next one!
