Inktober is a challenge to artists dating back to 2009. A challenge to render a drawing in ink every day for the month of October.

The rules are few and up to the artist. I see a lot of art that I don't consider inside the lines defining what makes proper inktober art.

And the proper response to my judgmental views would be "what do I know?"

The art can be completely random in theme. There is no rule about subject matter.

A lot of artists eliminate the chore of decision of what to draw. by using prompts for each day.
It's hard enough doing all that art. A smidge of forethought makes the return visits to the muse easier.

I chose to draw Batman every day of October. So I had half my prompt. Then it became Batman does this and Batman versus something or other.

Returning to that point about rules about what makes an inktober drawing, some camps would frown on any sort of preliminary sketching.
But like many other artists I thumbnailed the prompts adding to the final result’s quality. ( I've done completely direct inktobers in the past. They come out hit and miss. Lots of miss.)

This was October 2019 and I turned in a solid month of fun work. My best Inktober. Here they are. I'll post a link to where they live on Tumblr and Blogspot. Blogspot is probably best.

I’ve had a couple of slouch years. Not this year. To make sure I’ll go right back to Batman. I always like drawing Batman.
