In this video Aaron Hilliard of the Kitsap Peninsula Mycological Society and his trusty hound/lab Gunnar take a walk into the beautiful forest of western Washington state to discover what kind of mushrooms are growing. Its the dead of winter, which is not typically the greatest mushroom season, however a lot of tree loving mushrooms are out, some of which are highly medicinal, like the turkey tail.
In this video we encounter a large beautiful flush of turkey tail mushrooms and harvest them, which is probably the most widely studied mushroom of all time for cancer fighting agents as well as anti-inflammatory qualities. We also come across some fun mushrooms that can be made into candy. As always, the whimsical style of Mushroom Wonderland videos, the beautiful lush forest and the calm and detailed descriptions of the mushrooms and the forest lend an ASMR quality to the video that we hope all can enjoy and appreciate.
