President Hichilema commissioned the rehabilitated Chingola-Kasumbalesa Road under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP).

This is the first road project to be completed under this financing model. These are private sector funds exclusively, leaving the treasury intact.

With lessons and experiences from this project, geared to do more of such infrastructure projects across the country including the Ndola-Lusaka dual carriage way.

This economic road has now resolved all the travel delays and associated costs to and from Kasumbalesa Border.

Equally encouraging is that this road was built at half the cost than earlier estimated by the previous government, yet its of high quality and delivered on time.

"We also want to express our appreciation to the contractor, Turbo Ka-chin Consortium, for timely completing the project and call on our citizens to jealously guard this infrastructure against vandalism."
