Just because the package says "Steel Cut Oats" don't be fooled like I was. True Steel Cut or Irish Oats are big chunks of oats that take a half hour or more to cook. If you can cook the oatmeal in five minutes or less then the oats must be more finely chopped or even rolled/flattened. Here are the oats I will be buying in the future-
