The monument, honouring the six million Jews killed by the Nazis, was concealed under a blue tarpaulin as thousands of demonstrators gathered in central London.

The Metropolitan Police clarified that the decision to cover the memorial was made by Hyde Park officials, not by them.

A spokesperson for the Royal Parks stated that during demonstrations and major events, they collaborate closely with the Metropolitan Police to ensure safety, which sometimes involves protecting memorials.
