Disc Makers CEO Tony van Veen is SO frustrated, and we hope you can help.

We all know it’s very difficult for an artist to break through today, to gain visibility and grow a fanbase. And yet, most artists won’t do – or pay – anything to promote themselves. (But they WILL pay a few grand for a third guitar when they already own two perfectly good ones. 😅) Why is that?

This is why Tony recorded today’s video, to explore the following:

- His theory on why artists won’t invest in marketing
- What parts of the music business today are easy and affordable vs. difficult and expensive (and how that has flipped over the past decade)
- How Tony knows from personal experience that artists won’t invest in marketing
- How much you should invest in marketing if you want to build a successful music career

We’d love to hear from you. If you’ve released music and haven’t spent money to promote it, why not? (Or if you did, why, and how much?) How, then, are you getting the word out about your music? And what would it take for you to do more marketing?

Let’s learn from each other.
