In this video, we will review the green card renewal process. You may choose to renew your green card on your own, but you should hire an immigration attorney if you have:

1) spent extended time outside of the United States, or
2) had contact with the police since receiving your green card

You can apply to renew your green card up to 6 months before it expires. This process can take an average time of 12-13 months. Remember even though your green card may expire, your permanent residence status will not.
