I shot the original image in Morocco at the beginning of 2020, before everything started crashing down. Interestingly, when I first shot this photo, I lost my passport because I got so excited at the idea. Without my passport, I would've been stuck in Morocco for a while. Miraculously, after a morning of panic, a kind Moroccan fisherman picked up my passport and sent it to the police station. So every time i look at this photo, I'm reminded to look up, because things will get better.

I wanted to turn this into an illustration/animation, because I've been captivated by Disney, Studio Ghibli since a little kid. It was the one place for me to escape and dream.
