Follow this step by step guide on how to take a hardwood cutting with LoveGardening.com ambassador Katie Rushworth.

🌿 00:00 - Introduction
🌿 00:20 - Identify the growth
🌿 00:44 - Where the stem is a pencil thickness, remove the whole stem
🌿 01:00 - Snip the top of the cutting off
🌿 01:23 - Using the bottom of the stem, chop in to sections 6-8 inches long
🌿 02:10 - Remove all leaves from the cutting
🌿 02:30 - Using a spade create a slit in the ground and add drainage in the bottom
🌿 02:58 - Push the cuttings in to the ground and fill in making sure they're firmly in the ground
