One of the most hotly debated topics on our Discord server concerns itself with the very word ``craving'' or ``tanha'' itself.
Especially when new people of the modern Jhana traditions join, they often think of craving in radically different terms compared to this channel or the Suttas.
For them, craving is ``momentary'' and not much more, while I try to explain it as ``all-encompassing'' here.
After all, craving is THE central thing we want to overcome to end suffering!

People mean many different things with craving.
It can be good, momentary, or even a view.
Seeing craving on a broad level makes a lot of sense in the light of the Sutta definitions of suffering.
You are only really free when the uncontrollable circumstances can no longer make you fall back/suffer!
You have to be ``free'' before, while, and after you do something!
