Bill Maher announced on his Club Random podcast that he will quit stand-up after his next special. Maher explained that he put a lot of effort into his upcoming HBO special, which will be his 13th comedy special. He didn't want to make a big announcement about his retirement, as he could easily renegulate on the decision. If Maher retires, he plans to return to performing in a different form, possibly doing live Club Random episodes. Maher explained that he enjoys performing stand-up because it feeds each other and that it's a more relaxed show than his TV show.
