I am installing old traditional scallop shaped slates on my shed. I have done the same on my house and on my garage. The slates was fabricated 120 years ago, and they have already been used once. The buildings they originally was installed on are now gone, but the roofing tiles made from Quartzite are still good as new (almost).

This stone was formed by nature itself around 800 million years ago, in the time period called late Precambrian era. This stone type is known to be one of the most durable roofing tiles you can get.

The stone tiles are fabricated by the company: Altaskifer, located near the city Alta here in Norway, and this company is still going strong!

As mentioned, this is the third roof I put on this type of slates. I hope you can pick up some tips and tricks on how to do it from watching this video.
