Hello everyone! It's Julian and Heidi here, thrilled to share an exciting update with you. We've recently embarked on a captivating adventure as proud owners of our first narrowboat, where we'll be residing full-time during the renovation process.

In this week's episode, we take you through the exhilarating experience of purchasing our narrowboat and conducting a meticulous pre-purchase survey. Witness the suspense as we lift the boat out of the water for a thorough examination. Following the acquisition, we roll up our sleeves and dedicate the next four days to personally blacking the boat, a hands-on effort to save some hard-earned cash.

By the end of this episode, we find ourselves back afloat, ready to commence the comprehensive interior demolition. We're eager to hear your thoughts on our journey thus far, as we can't wait to unfold the chapters of our life spent living full-time on the enchanting UK canal network.

Greetings, folks! We're Julian and Heidi (no surprises there).

Our journey began in 2018 when we crossed paths and ignited our connection through a four-month exploration of Asia. Traveling has been a common thread in our lives even before we met. Julian, a seasoned globetrotter, has explored 44 countries over the past decade, while Heidi, with five years of travel under her belt, has ventured to around 20 countries.

Our paths converged in the professional realm in Singapore, where we both worked for an international company specializing in school photography worldwide.

What drew us together initially was our shared dream of converting a van into a DIY campervan and hitting the road. During the lockdown, we turned that dream into reality, transforming Sandy, our 2018 Mercedes Sprinter. By May 2021, we were living, traveling, and working as wedding photographers and videographers from the cozy confines of our campervan.

Fast forward to June 2023, and we've embarked on a new chapter, bidding farewell to our campervan to embrace the charm of a beautiful narrowboat. Over the next eight months, we'll be chronicling the interior renovations, inviting you to witness the transformation.
