The Civil Society Coalition for mandate protection has called on the federal government to ensure that pipeline protection contracts are no longer awarded to militants.
They add that there has been a trend of surveillance contracts being awarded to individuals and entities with a history of militant activity against the Nigerian state.
According to the group, “Such decisions not only compromise national security but also risk empowering these individuals to further arm themselves, thereby perpetuating violence and instability in the country’
They are now asking the Government to urgently address this issue.
