General Abdourahamane Tchiani intensifies the stalemate with ECOWAS - which is fully supported by France. Tchiani rejects any interference in Niger's internal affairs. Niger's coup leader has declared that he will not give in to pressure to reinstate ousted President Mohamed Bazoum, who, according to the new leadership, and people in general, is selected and appointed by the leadership in Paris to support France's interests.

The self-proclaimed leader who enjoys popular support said that the military "totally rejects these sanctions and refuses to give in to any threats, no matter where they come from. We refuse to interfere in the internal affairs of Niger".
