Welcome to the maximalist, art-filled, cool, and bohemian-inspired home of interior designer, Liam Mooney. We traveled to the gorgeous city of Cape Town, South Africa to spend the afternoon in Liam’s home which is fully stacked from bottom to top with unique art, curated objects, and textural layers of patterned upholstered furniture. This house is truly a lively, sun-filled space fit for entertaining. Drawing inspiration from the Schaffer House by John Lautner and featured in the 2009 Tom Ford, the critically acclaimed film A Single Man, Liam walks us through the cozy, garden space that encompasses his “undesigned designed” personal aesthetic that describes a home that feels lived in, uncomplicated, not easily replicated and packed with personal memories and items collected throughout the years. Notable features of Liam’s home include gorgeous, mid-century modern inspired architecture throughout and highlight the light-filled space with original wood-framed details, an open layout kitchen and living room, a lush, green, and collected mix of greenery in a courtyard garden, and an intellectual, neo bohemian look throughout.
