British-Nigerian artist Jay O is a musical explorer in every sense. From his teenage years, he's been uploading tracks and mixtapes online, venturing into grime, R&B, and Afrobeats. However, it's the latter two genres that currently take centre stage in his ever-growing discography.

JayO's music is a rich tapestry woven from his multifaceted experiences. As a child, he was all-ears to a wall of sound whether it be from his local church, or neighbourhood house parties. “I think music is best experienced live, and London is the place for that. I’ve got great memories of heading to underground shows that have massively influenced me. I’ve tried to step out of my comfort zone and check out as much music as possible. Going out has been a great way to understand an audience and different demographics.”

His music brings to life the sensations of connection, the electrifying gaze exchanged across a dimly lit party, and the unspoken passions that simmer beneath the surface. In closing, JayO offers advice to aspiring artists: "Try and stop overthinking. I feel like as artists, we tend to over-analyse a lot. If you're proud of a song, just put it out there. I'm trying to embrace that mindset now, not feeling the pressure I used to.
