Tomoko Kawase is a singer known by her alter-egos "Tommy heavenly6" and "Tommy february6". She is also the lead singer of the band "the brilliant green". She has participated in some anime such as Gundam 00 (with the brilliant green), Paradise Kiss (as Tommy february6) and Gintama & Soul Eater (as Tommy heavenly6).

Tomoko has enjoyed great success during the late 90s with her band, reaching 1st place on Oricon with 3 singles (including "There will be love there", used in ReLIFE) and also during the 2000s with her alter-egos, reaching several Top 10 singles on Oricon (including "Pray", "Ash Like Snow" with her band and "PAPERMOON"). Both she and her band left Sony Music in 2010 and are now owned by Warner.

I must admit that I'm a bigger fan of her solo work than her band's songs, especially "heavenly6" because of the rock style that characterises her music. Even in some of her music videos, like "Hey my friend", she gives me a vibe of Avril Lavigne, one of my favourite non-Japanese singer (although it should be reverse because Tomoko is older than Avril hehe). So, I have many reasons to love her.

She is also one of the few artists who, after leaving Sony, did not decline in her musical quality. "monochrome rainbow", "RUBY EYES" (as heavenly6) or "RUNAWAY" (as february6) are some examples of great songs. It's been a long time since she has released new material, she is missed too much, she is a fantastic singer.
