In this video, we try to explain the main differences between these two cat breeds.

Serval vs Ocelot

The serval is active in the day as well as at night; activity might peak in the early morning, around twilight and at midnight. Servals might be active for a longer time on cool or rainy days. During the hot midday, they rest or groom themselves in the shade of bushes and grasses.

The ocelot is active around twilight (crepuscular) and at night (nocturnal), and hence difficult to observe.[ However, it can be seen hunting in the daytime as well – especially on cloudy or rainy days. The ocelot is active for 12 to 14 hours every day, and hunting is the major activity. It rests mainly during the day and in a variety of places, such as tree branches, depressions at the base of trees or under fallen trees.
