Andrew Gross, MD, is a radiation oncologist. In 2023, Dr. Gross joined University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center as a physician in radiation oncology and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor in Radiation Oncology. Dr. Gross primarily see patients at University Hospitals Mentor Health Center.

Dr. Gross’s areas of clinical interest include breast cancer, central nervous system malignancies, gastrointestinal cancers, gynecologic cancers, lung cancer and prostate cancer. His expertise encompasses multiple radiation oncology modalities, among them 3D-CRT, passive scatter proton beam, linear-accelerator-based stereotactic radiosurgery, gamma knife radiosurgery, stereotactic body radiation therapy of multiple organ sites, and low-dose rate brachytherapy for prostate cancer with stranded and single seed placement techniques.

Dr. Gross earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Kent State University (Kent, Ohio) in 2012. He obtained his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University (Rootstown, Ohio) in 2018. While at Northeast Ohio Medical, Dr. Gross served as an elected student committee member for both the College of Medicine Committee on Academic and Professional Progress and the College of Medicine Student Conduct Council, as well as Alpha Omega Alpha (Medical Honors Society) and Student Liaison for the College of Medicine. Dr. Gross’s post-graduate training included a residency in radiation oncology at UH Cleveland Medical Center/Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine completed in 2023; and a residency in internal medicine at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center (Cleveland, Ohio) completed in 2019. While working on his radiation oncology residency, Dr. Gross served as Chief Resident of Department of Radiation Oncology at UH Cleveland Medical Center.

Dr. Gross has contributed to medical research in such areas as pre-planning imaging for prostate cancer brachytherapy, definitive chemoradiation and adjuvant immunotherapy for lung cancer, and the treatment of recurrent laryngeal nerve lesions in patients with dysphagia. In addition to serving as a journal reviewer for JTO Clinical and Research Reports, Dr. Gross has contributed original publications to a variety of peer-reviewed journals, including Clinical Lung Cancer, Seminars in Radiation Oncology, Advances in Radiation Oncology, Frontiers in Oncology, Journal of Clinical Images and Medical Case Reports, Journal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics and Dysphagia.

Dr. Gross has served as an invited lecturer or presenter at the World Conference on Lung Cancer (2023), the North America Conference on Lung Cancer (2022), the 62nd and 63rd Annual Meetings of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology Annual Meeting (2021), among other annual meetings and conferences. Professional medical societies in which Dr. Gross is a member include the American Society of Radiation Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Brachytherapy Society, American Medical Association, and Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) – Zeta Chapter.
