2015թ. ապրիլի 12-ին Վատիկանից՝ Սբ. Պետրոս Մայր տաճարից, ուղիղ հեռարձակմամբ, միլիոնավոր մարդիկ հետևում էին Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-րդ տարելիցին նվիրված արարողությանը` պապական պատարագին և հայածես հոգեհանգստին:
Պատմական այդ իրադարձության առիթով Վատիկանում էին ՀՀ նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը, հոգևոր և աշխարհիկ բարձրաստիճան պաշտոնյաներ, քաղաքական գործիչներ, մշակույթի, գիտության նվիրյալներ, գործարարներ: Տաճարը լի էր տարբեր երկրների հայկական համայնքներից ժամանած բազմաթիվ պատվիրակներով:
Սրբազան քահանայապետ Ֆրանցիսկոս պապին, Ամենայն հայոց Գարեգին Բ կաթողիկոսին և Մեծի Տանն Կիլկիկիո Արամ Ա կաթողիկոսին թափորն ուղեկցեց դեպի խորան: Զատկին հաջորդող երկրորդ կիրակի օրը կաթոլիկ աշխարհը տոնում է Աստվածային ողորմության տոնը: Հատկապես այդ կիրակին էր ընտրված` հիշեցնելու Հայոց մեծ եղեռնից հետո աստվածային ողորմությամբ հայ ժողովրդի վերստին հարությունը:
Արարողության ընթացքում Հայ եկեղեցու սուրբ Գրիգոր Նարեկացին դասվեց Տիեզերական Եկեղեցու վարդապետների շարքը:
Տեսանյութում Ֆրանցիսկոս պապի ելույթը, Գարեգին Բ Ամենայն հայոց կաթողիկոսի քարոզը և ողջույնի խոսքը` Սրբազան քահանայապետին ներկայացված են ամբողջությամբ:

Ecclesiastical life 13.04.2015 Special coverage from Vatican
On April 12, 2015 millions of people were watching the ceremony dedicated to the centenary of the Armenian Genocide aired from Vatican, St. Peters Basilica – a Holy Mass served by the Pope Francis and Armenian Church Patriarch-led Requiem Repose of Souls.
This historical event was attended by the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, high-ranking officials from the Armenian Church and the Government, political, cultural figures, scientists and businessmen. The Basilica was hosting numerous delegates from various Armenian communities from all over the world.
The congregation accompanied the Supreme Pontiff Francis, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II and Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I to the Altar. The second Sunday following the Easter, the Catholic world is celebratingthe Feast of Heavenly Mercy. This specific Sunday was chosen to commemorate the rebirth of the Armenian nation after the Great Massacres with the help of God’s Mercy.
During the ceremony, the saint of the Armenia Church St. Gregory of Narek was proclaimed as a Doctor of the Universal Church.
