In this video lesson we will learn about the slope of a line as a ratio, m, rise over run. We will learn that rise is the change in y or vertical change between any two points on a line. We will learn that run is the change in x or horizontal change between any two points on a line. We will learn how to find the slope of a line graphed in a coordinate plane. We will find the slope by using two given points to graph a line and find the slope. We will use a table of values to graph a line and find the slope. We will compare the equivalent ratios by finding slope between different points. Student practice is embedded in the lesson and exemplar solutions are modeled.
