I'm usually here to make jokes. But I want to say a few words about Yuko Takeuchi, and about love.

Love, I think, is what makes a story a Sherlock Holmes Story. Love over Loneliness.

Long coats, fast words, quirky crime scenes - they come and go, the details ever changing.

What I really come back for is the love story (however you define it). Love of a landlady, an inspector, a brother, a flatmate, strangers in need.
And with that: redemption; the chosen family; hope that anyone - no matter how lonely or damaged or scared they are -  ends up exactly where they are meant to be.

When Arthur Conan Doyle wrote Sherlock Holmes over the cliff edge, it was the fans that held on to him. Who filled the streets and wrote letters and pulled him back up, to the land of the living. He was wanted here, and so the story kept going.
It's what it has always been about.

So I am thinking about Yuko Takeuchi, who is forever a beautiful part of the Sherlock Holmes story, and who is no doubt missed by all who knew her. And I am thinking about anyone reading this, who is lonely, and loved, and scared, and who I promise will end up exactly where they are meant to be.

Stay here. Be needed. Need others. Stand by them. And let them do the same for you.

Love,
Bee.
