When Angus's actions result in Hunham's dismissal, the latter accepts it gracefully, understanding he has made a difference in Angus's life. In a surprising turn, Hunham takes responsibility for their trip, sparing Angus from military school but sacrificing his own job. Despite this, he drives away, embracing a new journey free from the constraints of Barton Academy.
