In 1999, two years after a missing persons investigation is launched, skeletal remains are uncovered in the woods. Detectives look to the garbage can the remains were found in and analyse the knot work to identify the killer still at large. Elsewhere, a senseless murder leaves hotel staff shocked.

The New Detectives is a documentary true crime show that features reenactments of events surrounding a murder and follows police departments as they solve cases using forensic science.
