Thanks for checking out my vocal tribute to the HBO television series, Game of Thrones! I love the strength and resilience of the female characters, particularly Daenerys Targaryen, and wanted to capture some of her mystical spirit in this arrangement of the main theme, originally composed by Ramin Djawadi.  It seemed only fitting to write lyrics from her perspective - in Dothraki, no less!  (Text and translation below.)

Andrew “zircon” Aversa and I wanted to keep the arrangement mostly acoustic with driving, tribal drums and up to six vocal harmonies at once. I had fun breaking out the recorder and hand percussion for this one, and Jeff Ball contributed some amazing violin tracks for extra oomph.

The video, directed by our insanely talented friend Landon Donoho, was filmed at Torrey Pines State Reserve in San Diego.  It was a blistering day, but the magnificent views were well worth the trouble!  Between ocean sunsets and epic cliffside shots, we tried to evoke the look and feel of Essos. ^_^
