RISE 004 HARARE EP

Building on the success of 2018 RISE continues to reach new levels and grow from strength to strength.

The 4th release for the label sees Floyd Lavine back at the helm to chart new waters. Always a champion of the new age African sound Floyd Lavine has been deftly spreading his philosophy on the global stage whilst calmly raising his profile.

The EP Harare is an adventure where Floyd Lavine starts from his roots and explores the future creating a warm ambience to enhance your mood.

A side - Kusimama

Kusimama is all about standing tall on Mother Earth, with hope, strength, acceptance and a positive spirit. Floyd Lavine states "My goal was to pay homage to the classic era of Afro House music while still remaining true to myself and my message. When the track was near completion I felt it needed some extra soul so I got in touch with a talented vocalist I met in Berlin during the summer AWEN and she gave the track that extra flourish."

B side - Ghosts of Harare

The Great Zimbabwe was once a powerful kingdom and home of the Bantu people. For centuries it was one of the most advance and forward thinking nations in Africa .

Floyd explains "With this track I wanted to capture the essence of what that means to me, 'The Ghosts of Harare’ is me channeling voices from my ancestors. Listening to stories of strength, pain, humility, love and respecting that long history. Seeing Africa not only as a tarnished continent but a beacon of the future. Hearing Khofhi TheKing sing I knew the direction the track was heading in and built the mood to compliment that deep emotion his voice carries."
