Dog Park, is a Romantic Comedy about a successful businessman, Nick, who uses his ex-girlfriend's dog, Maxx, to pick up the ladies ... only he doesn't disclose one fact: Maxx is not his dog.

"Dog Park is actually the story of two people of different backgrounds, each of whom has been "burned by love" in their past, and are now somehow building up the courage to "give love another try". The actions of a jealous ex-girlfriend....and the male lead's somewhat innocent "misrepresentation" about owning a dog, leading to an "oh...not again!!!" moment for the female (and thus a split up), until she ultimately realizes this guy (whom she has only recently met... and has really started to care about) didn't have any malicious intent in his "deceptions". She also figures out the guy's "ex" has simply been trying to create drama in order to break them apart, and thus get "the last laugh".
The core storyline begins with their initial meeting at a popular local dog park (hence the film's name) and the attempt (on the guy's part) to build a relationship despite their different background. He is dog-sitting his ex-girlfriend's pet, when he first meets this new lady, who is a regular at the park accompanying her dog. He is a software guru who is "bummed out" after his last relationship soured, and she is an aspiring film maker who is "still reconciling her life" after a painful divorce.
I thought the chemistry between the characters was just fine. No huge names here, but very enjoyable....kinda like "Something New" or a less comedic "Guess Who...". Family friendly (for those that care)... and simply a fun little "relationship film". It's what some would label a "chick flick"... but I found it enjoyable to watch as well. A very nice break from the "shoot'em ups", sci-fi's, and high intensity action dramas I often watch.
Was VERY impressed by Ms. Dixon (who plays the female lead as well as being this film's ACTUAL filmmaker). She is a very lovely lady.... with a beautiful smile and somewhat "pixyish" face and eyes that remind me so much of a younger Lynn Whitfield! I just wish she appeared in more films, as she definitely has a special passion and a unique quality about her that translates so well onto film. She comes across as being truly "genuine"!
Watched it on PRIME...but now intend to buy the DVD to make sure I have it available to watch again. Hoping to see much more of her (Ms. Jade Jenise Dixon) and her projects in the future... and wishing her much success!"
