Now to the country's major political parties reshuffling their leadership structures
This morning, the ruling People Power Party inaugurated Hwang Woo-yeo, the party's advisor and former five-term lawmaker, as its new emergency steering leader.
Hwang's major task is leading the party through its national convention expected in around two months when new leaders will be elected.
Hwang says he will put in his best efforts to recapture the PPP's glory and solidify its party identity.
Meanwhile, the main opposition Democratic Party elected lawmaker Park Chan-dae as its new floor leader.
The majority of DP lawmakers-elect of the upcoming 22nd Assembly voted in favor of the sole candidate for the position, although the specific number of votes was not revealed.
Park says his main goal is to effectively tackle issues concerning people's livelihoods.
