Talk by Jesse Warr and Len Holmes, presented on February 23, 2021. Mr. Warr is a member of the SF Tour Guide Guild, and Mr. Holmes is the Guild’s President. This lecture examines the role of African Americans in the first century of California history, from “New Spain” to the 1850 Compromise to racism at the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition.
