In 2014 Marvel released ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, a film about a relatively unknown superhero team. Coming off the back of The Avengers (2012), many people were wary about the success of the film. However, the movie took the world by storm, many people even preferring the film and its characters to the Avengers.


One of the most notable things about the movie was Meredith Quill’s ‘Awesome Mix Vol. 1’, which seemed to outshine the also awesome score by Tyler Bates. Bates composed a memorable theme for the film, which bares a likeness to the Avengers theme by Alan Silvestri, but is also easily distinguishable.


Tyler Bates brought the theme back for the sequel; ‘Guardians of the Galaxy (2017)’, but used it much more sparingly.
