Men's team final China vs Sweden, match 5: Cai Zhenhua 蔡振华 vs Jan-Ove Waldner. Cai wins 2-0 (28, 16); China wins 5-1. 1983 World Table Tennis Championships, Tokyo, Japan. This was Waldner's first participation in a world championship; he was 17 at the time. Cai Zhenhua used "antispin" rubber on one side and kept "twiddling" his racket to disguise which side he was using. It was because of players such as Cai that ITTF in 1983 decided to introduce the two-color rule for rubbers and to forbid foot-stomping during service. Cai Zhenhua went on to become the Chinese national team coach and a powerful multi-sports administrator.
