There are many weapons wielded to fuel oppression, though not all of them are visible. Covert, overt, conscious or unconscious – every instance of racism sits just as heavy as a knee on the neck.

We believe there can be a world where all are treated equally. A world that is diverse and beautiful, where each of us has access to the same opportunities to thrive. Where our differences are celebrated. Where our differences enrich those around us. A world where no human being has to worry for their safety, their health, their future or their life. For now, it exists only in our imagination, but with real work and open hearts, we can make this a reality.

Black Lives Matter.

They always have, and they always will.

Each member of The Nor’easters has a unique background, rich with distinct cultural experiences that impact the art we create as a group. We are passionate about supporting and promoting the arts and believe that it is essential to create space that allows for artistic experimentation and growth, especially amongst underserved populations.

All proceeds from this video will go directly to the Black Art Futures Fund (BAFF). Alongside its mission to amplify and strengthen the future of Black arts, BAFF’s collaborative grant-making model allows smaller arts organizations to foster and preserve Black arts and culture within their communities.

If you are able, we hope that you’ll consider making a donation to the Black Art Futures Fund. We will be accepting donations from now until August 31, 2020. Donations can be made to our Venmo account here: https://bit.ly/DonateToBAFF_Noreaster...
