For the new terrifying villain of the second part, Hans Zimmer sought to create a theme formed from the musical soundscape of the Harkonnens that befitted the na-Baron's psychotic tendencies. Played on guttural cello, usually a three note motif sting derived from a larger three note melody, his theme screams violence and rage, accompanied sometimes by a five beat marching pattern to portray his militancy. Interesting enough, his theme is often used for Paul during his descent into madness, underscoring reprises of the main theme and other related motifs to show not only how similar Paul and Feyd are in terms of being two sides of the same coin, but also with regards to both of their own unique brands of tyranny.
