This is the FM audio recording of the launch of Rhythmic CHR WFYY "Fly 103.1" Windermere/Orlando, FL.

It launched at 12:00 pm local time on August 1, 2022 with "First Class" by Jack Harlow being the first song played. The station had the first 10,000 songs play commercial free before the official launch of their on-air lineup. The radio station was previously stunting for the last 3 days after it dropped its nearly 8-year-old country format as "The Wolf". The format change was a response of the departure of “Power 95.3” WPYO, which had been that format from 2004, before shifting to Top 40 in 2018 in response to Entercom (now Audacy)’s format change of WQMP, which had broadcast a Top 40 radio format known as “101.9 AMP Radio” from February 2014 until November 2017, to alternative rock as “FM 101.9”.

Update 3/4/2024: WFYY has since dropped the rhythmic CHR “Fly” format due to low ratings after failing to recapture the audience of the former “Power 95.3” before its sale to Spanish Broadcasting System and flip to Latin Tropical as “El Zol 95.3”. It has flipped to JVC Broadcasting’s hot talk “Florida Man Radio” network, which originally was on the station’s HD3 subchannel and an FM translator, which returned to simulcasting its sister AM station WDYZ, which broadcasts a sports talk format.
