Khalid - Softest Touch (Live Performance)

We don’t need a long list of Khalid’s achievements. Fans around the world know the pleasure the songs, albums, and videos the “Better” singer has brought to them. From the “Young, Dumb, and Broke” days to last year’s “Satellite,” the 25-year-old El Paso native made a major dent in pop and R&B since his celebrated 2016 “Location” video came rolling up to screens everywhere. And he’s been a great collaborator with Vevo. We’ve shot performances by the maestro a number of times, clocking his rise and amplifying his art. So we’re glad to do it again with “Softest Touch,” a seductive jaunt through the lead track from Khalid’s upcoming ‘EVERTHING IS CHANGING’ album. The singer seems so at ease here. The band is splashing an easy-going funk at him, and he’s just riding the groove, dispensing some good will that the we could all use right now. “It’s been an interesting couple of years,” Khalid recently told an interviewer. “I feel like everybody’s been a little bit confused and sad and under the weather, and so I just wanted to put something out for my fans that I felt was undeniably happy. There’s good vibes, good energy, just contributing to the world and giving people some love to hold onto.” Of course there’s a little flash to it, too. Check K’s green vest; it goes nicely with the blue and purple fur of the song’s lyric video, which dropped a couple months ago. Great to have our guy back in action.
