Proofpoint encryption secures outbound and inbound email messages as they cross different network domains to ensure that content is not read or altered by unintended parties. An email encryption service is especially important for organizations who are required to follow laws such as GDPR, HIPAA, SOX or abide by security standards such as PCI-DSS.
Watch as this video tutorial demonstrates how to enable Proofpoint email encryption in the following four steps.

1. Secure a messaging portal for end users – where external recipients connect to the secure reader on the Proofpoint system where they will register, enroll, and read the secure message. Learn about certificate requirements, how to request, import, and add certificates.

2. Add a logo to the branding template – learn how to upload and import a custom logo for templates.

3. Configure a response profile – where you can specify URL where users will be going to decrypt messages. Edit the options available to recipients, such as replies, forwarding capabilities, allowing for CC, and more.

4. Modify the external password policy – enables you to create policies based on different users, such as admin, external, and internal. As well as change and updating password requirements.
An email encryption solution is needed to mitigate the risks associated with regulatory violations, data loss and corporate policy violations, while enabling critical business communications.
