➡️ When I first dipped my toes into modern progressive metal, "Bloodmeat" by Protest the Hero was a key song in shaping how I approached writing bass lines in my own music. Bassist Arif Mirabdolbaghi plows through so many techniques in this song ranging from melodic bass chords, funky ghost notes, tricky slap & pop grooves, perfectly-placed slides, and full-range arpeggios using two-handed bass tapping. This song is truly a goldmine for progressive metal bass playing, and I've always wanted to learn it. As before, so many of you requested that I do a reaction / analysis video for this tune, but considering I've been listening to it for almost 15 years now, I decided to just play it instead.
