Doctor Howard Mierzwiak's (Tom Wilkinson) memory machine starts to malfunction halfway during Joel's (Jim Carrey) procedure leading him to experience strange visions of his ex-girlfriend Clementine (Kate Winslet).

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind (2004): Joel finds out that his girlfriend, Clementine, has had him erased from her memories and decides to do the same. During the time of the clinical procedure, he realizes that he still loves her deeply.
