Excess facial hair can become troublesome. Here are a few ways to tackle it.

▪️Waxing
You can use waxing to remove hair on other parts of the body but avoid it on the face.

▪️Hair removal creams
These are prone to irritate skin and cause rashes which leaves behind dark spots. So don’t use them on your face.

▪️Threading
This can be used to shape eyebrows but threading chin area and side locks may also cause ingrown hair in these areas.

▪️Shaving or trimming
This is a good way to tackle facial hair without causing any harm to the skin .

▪️Laser hair reduction
If you require removal of hair for more than twice a month, then laser hair reduction is the best option. Usually 6-8 sessions are required at monthly intervals followed by maintenance sessions once or twice a hear depending on hair growth

▪️Bleaching
If you have thin fine hair, then bleaching is an option. Here are a few precautions to take if you want to bleach
✔️do not bleach if if is dry, red or irritated
✔️apply a thin layer of moisturiser wait for 20’mins then apply the bleach
✔️leave the bleach for only 10-15 mins, not longer
✔️wash face with cool water and apply a layer of aloe Vera gel or soothing moisturiser
✔️on the day of bleaching avoid actives like retinol, salicylic acid, glycolic acid or vitamin C
✔️do not exfoliate skin for 4 days after bleaching.

⚠️Hormonal evaluation is important if you have thick coarse hair in chin, upper lip and side locks area . You can visit your dermatologist Gynecologist or endocrinologist for evaluation.
