Hollywood Records sat down with composer Julia Newman for an episode of the acclaimed music docuseries The Big Score. In this episode, the third-generation composer talks about her musical journey into the family business and how her first big TV gig began with scoring Truman Capote’s footsteps. She talks about what it was like to score the final episode of “FEUD Capote vs. The Swans” on the Newman Scoring Stage and how the simple act of being encouraged is one of the best things that can happen to a young composer. With her mesmerizing score, Newman beautifully puts to music the splendor and melodrama of this bygone era.
