The Cheetah GPS Speedometer is an exclusive item to The Villages Golf Cars. The Cheetah is designed to work with gas Yamaha and electric EZGO RXV Golf Cars.

Troubleshooting
1. Range display not updating.

Possible Solution: If the range displays a value much higher than 250 miles, it is likely the wrong golf car type has been selected.

2. A Battery is being displayed instead of a gas pump for a gas golf car.

Possible Solution: Enter the setup menu and recheck the golf car type.

3. The hour display is wrong, but minutes is correct.

Possible Solution: (1) Check the setup menu to make sure the proper time zone is selected. (2) Check that DST is ON for summer and OFF for winter.

4. The temperature is reading much higher than it actually is.

Possible Solution: If the sun is striking the speedometer, especially when not moving, the display will read higher than the actual temperature due to the sun heating the speedometer. This is normal and not a defect of the speedometer.

5. The yellow light is blinking in the upper right and the time, date, and/or compass are not working.

Possible Solution: The light will flash when the speedometer does not have a GPS lock. Make sure the golf car has a clear view of the open sky. Typically, the speedometer will lock on the GPS in 90 seconds or less.

6. The yellow and red lights at the top are flashing rapidly.

Possible Solution: The speedometer's internal battery needs to be recharged after an extended storage period. The flashing should stop when the ignition key is turned on and normal golf car usage should recharge the battery.

7. My speedometer display remains on in the evening, even with the ignition key turned off.

Possible Solution: If the speedometer is used after 5pm, the display will remain on to allow the user to see the display at night. It will turn off at 5am. It can also be turned off at any time by pressing the "menu" button for 3 seconds. The display will turn back on when the ignition is keyed or by pressing any key.

8. The display is blank when I first start moving, but starts displaying speed after a few seconds.

Possible Solution: In order to conserve power, the Cheetah will go into a power saving mode and turn off the display if no motion is detected for 30 seconds. Once motion is again detected, it will turn on the display and resume normal operation.
