Despite being 900 years old, Yoda was able to defeat Master Windu and Master Dooku, two of the greatest duelists of all time. However, Plo Koon was able to defeat during a sparing Yoda, but why? Plo Koon was a master of Form 5 lightsaber combat, specialising in the shien variation. This was a well rounded form, allowing for a powerful offence and defence, while also being highly effective at deflecting blaster bolts. However, it has also been noted that Plo Koon has shown proficiency in the aggressive and fast paced form 4, the same as grand master Yoda. The combination of these two forms made Plo Koon profiencent against multiple lesser opponents as well as individual masters of the Lightsaber. This perfectly matched the grand masters technique which relied on a flurry of fast paced attacks, allowing Plo Koon to succeed against Yoda where many others had failed
