When the state of Massachusetts deems Ted (Seth MacFarlane) as property instead of a person, Sam (Amanda Seyfried) takes on the challenge of proving to the court that Ted (Seth MacFarlane) possesses a soul and is capable of love, sparking a heartfelt legal battle with Ted on trial.
