The incident, which took place after a failed $20,000 robbery attempt, resulted in the duo being arrested and charged. According to Ross, although both had left Chicago to pursue their careers, they brought the negative energy to Atlanta, causing this violent incident. Notably, King Von was known at the time for still being deep in the streets of Chicago despite his budding rap career. Lil Durk turned himself in for the case, and his charges were later dropped. However, the case remained unresolved as King Von was killed before the trial, and the charges were subsequently dropped against Durk. Ross refuted speculations that Durk had cooperated against Von after his death to drop the charges.
