Hello folks! Today I want to show you the restoration of the dagger of the machine-gun teams of the 1908 model. This item belonged to the lower ranks. The condition of the blade is average, there is no scabbard. The accessories of the scabbard are steel, in good condition. In this work, I tried to preserve as much as possible the original appearance of the handle, the blade and always the object as a whole. Well, I'm starting to recover this dagger.

First, I took the handle apart. I put the steel parts together with the blade in a rust remover. I cleaned the wooden handle linings from rust, dirt and grease manually. Then I degreased everything and glued the handle.

I cleaned and sanded the blade exclusively by hand. I also cleaned the handle parts manually and covered them with a protective agent. After drying, the handle pads, I additionally strengthened my own with a new method that I came up with. I used fiberglass mesh and superglue.

The handle was riveted by hand, no glue was used. I also made a new scabbard made of beech wood, glued it with genuine leather and installed the accessories of the scabbard. The item turned out to be authentic. I like it, I hope you enjoy this restoration.
